Wabei currently serves as the General Manager at Xtenda Finance Limited. Through his leadership, the organization has risen to fifth place in the microfinance sector, showcasing his expertise in driving growth and operational excellence. He has over ten years of experience in strategy execution, methodologies, and project management within the banking and microfinance industries.

Before joining Xtenda Finance Limited, Wabei held the position of Chief of Staff at Atlas Mara Zambia. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in executing corporate strategies and was integral to the project team that successfully merged Finance Bank and BancABC Zambia into Atlas Mara Zambia—a groundbreaking achievement in the Zambian financial industry. Additionally, he served as a Project Consultant for ProBASE Group, Zambia's leading fintech organization, where he restructured the Project Management Office, aligning it with PRINCE2 global best practices—an internationally acclaimed standard for project management.

Wabei is an accredited PRINCE2 Practitioner and has successfully spearheaded several critical projects across various departments by leveraging this methodology. His academic achievements include a master’s Degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Zambia. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance at Copperbelt University and an Executive Development certificate from the University of Stellenbosch.
